NZCU Auckland is a public-benefit organization that strives for service over profitability.
NZCU Auckland is a financial co-operative; however we are not a charity and must make sound financial decisions. We operate under a Trust Deed and are governed by the Friendly Societies and Credit Unions Act 1982.
Credit Union Auckland is a Qualified Financial Entity (QFE).

As a mutual financial organisation, NZCU Auckland is democratically governed by its Board which is elected by its customer-owners.

Chaired by Doug McLaren, re-appointed to the Board in 2015, our Board of Directors represents a healthy mix of business experience and member representation.
Full Year Result
Largely as a result of converting to the new Oracle Flexcube banking system, Credit Union Auckland (trading as NZCU Auckland) had a operating deficit of $198,741 in the 2020 Financial Year. Our reserves now stand at $3.261 million and the Trust Deed capital adequacy ratio was 15.68%. Total Assets decreased by $0.278 million to $21,801 million.
